The latest vintage of one of my "stand-by" wines made it into my working cellar this month.

On opening, this is a fruit salad in a bottle! Plenty of grapefruit to my taste, plenty of acidity, but on first approach it almost taste sweet on the palate, with a nice creamy butterscotch texture. Almost too drinkable. Twenty-four hours later, a second taste (Okay, glass. Or two.) was different, but still very palatable. The malo characters were a lot more prevalent, the fruit dropping off a little. Very smooth and full-bodied. Great summertime drinking.

Their website picks it to cellar 3-5 years easily. I'd say drink sooner rather rthan later, though.

It's a good 'un!

Not sure I've had the 2004 but I've like those vintages I have tried.
