Picked this up several weeks ago at a good price for this area. Blackberry and blueberry somewhat flabby, goopy all fruit forward flavors. Didn't pour it out but you can't pair it with anything. Eileen also commented, when she had a glass later, that it was too sweet and over the top. This will probably be the last vintage of MP for me if this trend continues. 14.5% Alc/vol. $13

There are still a few misguided winemakers in Oz who take their cues from California; not realizing that most of the meaningful innovations in the wine world come from their own back yard.

To date my favorite Marquis-Phillips wine was the first vintage of Sarah's Blend I tasted. They seem to get more extracted and woodier each year. One year we had to order by the complete case so I have a bunch of Shiraz I am aging in hopes that it will mellow a bit in time.
