Bev made up a fabulous batch of Cioppino today. We match it with Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale. Yum!

YUM! Sometimes I get so desparate for Cioppino that I go down to Trader Joes adn get the frozen version for $4.99.... Good but does not compare at all to good homemade stuff!

Engineer, you should probably try it at Cioppino Restaurant on Nantucket. Speaking of which, keep in mind mid-may for an offline on Cape Cod if you can make it.

WOW, Many thanks and which offline? I'm traveling like a fedex package with ne fixed address currently.

I'm heading back to the UK Mid May and might even get to Bordeaux for the weekend of the 17th for the bordeaux tasting weekend......

What's Ciopinno? I do a fair amount of cooking, but I've never heard of that.

- wondersofwine - 04-09-2009

It's a seafood soup or stew where they throw in a little bit of everything. See the explanation here: http://www.cioppinos.com/home.htm

Engineer, I was suggesting an offline with you and KC (Bob) and Judy if you can make it May 12 or May 18 on Cape Cod. I will be at the Nantucket Wine Festival May 14-17 and plan to dine at Dan'l Webster Inn May 13th but haven't made plans for dinner on the 12th or 18th. Head back to NC May 19th. Sounds like you will be in UK or Bordeaux at that time.

Thanks, WoW! Looks delicious!

- TheEngineer - 04-09-2009

Ah...okay. that sounds great! I'll check my travel plans and then let you know. It might be a week or so before I know.

What a disappointment. Food / Wine affinity board. All I see is Old Brown Dog Nose beer or something. What wine? For me.... I don't know. Maybe a Sangiovese?
