1999 Rosemount Traditional ($19.99) - if i recall, this bordeaux blend is about 70% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, and 10% petite verdot. decanted for an hour prior. can't give detailed notes since i was drinking this out on a pier on the bay last night, but the nice nose even cut through the salt air. great flavors, solid finish, and picked up in complexity and intensity with another hour or so in decanter. an elegant wine with fine tannins. will put an '05 timer on my second (and last) bottle. 91 pts.

came across 3 more of these at my regular shop (at $17.99 per). the blend actually is 75 percent cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot and 10% petit verdot. by color and taste, this wine is maturing nicely. wonderful aromas and flavors, with a bit of tannin still, which melts away after a few hours in the decanter. this is a bigger wine that it was last year, with the cab really taking the lead now. tannins should be gone within a couple years. if drinking now, decant for two hours. tasty stuff. solid 91 points.
