On a recent trip to DC, I picked up a bottle of Dowie Doole Shiraz, a label with which I am not familiar.

I've found very little info on this wine.

Any information?

Not sure if this helps, but...

The 1999 Dowie Doole Shiraz, smartly packaged,is kinda hard to find in these parts. But, I belive from a trip a few years ago a guy named Leigh Gilligan (not the island I hope) was somehow involved in marketing these very decent reds. The '99 is thick, deep purple, comes off with off-dry fruit, kinda tannic, yet with a great finish. A friend says the Cab is good too. Oops, just checked! have a '96 Chenin Blanc in the basement. No clue about the wine.

We drank this on Friday evening. It was outstanding -- soft and warm and filled with fruit. There was a long, lovely finish. It was a very substantial wine.

I don't know where Dowie Doole distributes (I found only the one bottle in DC), but if this Shiraz is any indication, I would suggest that you keep your eyes open for this wine and this label.

Would REALLY be great if they were distributing fertilizer. WW

And Penfolds are places where fat people keep their writing instruments?

Let's not even contemplate word games with "Peter Lehmann"!
