2000 Cairnbrae, Pinot Gris, Marlborough ($9.99 SHWC). A white with mucho gusto. Apricots and pears on the nose and upfront. Creamy (from mal) butterscotch combined with crisp acidity for contrast crosses the palate, and a very lingering finish for a white.

It matched splendidly with broasted chicken breast with garlic, rosemary, and OO. When we do this we do it in a cast iron skillet so we can reduce wine and stock in it and strain over chicken. Accompanied by rolls and spinach, it made for a very pleasant meal.
