Dark ruby to purple in the glass. Nose of blackberry. The fruit really jumps out in this thing. I'd say fruit bomb, but an enjoyable one. Blackberry and blueberry pie flavors dominate, and the tannins are soft. It would be a nice wine for a newbie, or as an aperitif. Don't know how it'd go with food, unless something had a fruit glaze. Finish was pie-like, too. Paid $18 at the local Whole Foods. Alc. 13.5%. I think I liked it more than Anne, who found it less than complex and who would have preferred more earthiness to temper the fruit. I can't really disagree, but it was tasty for what it was. Drink it short-term, if you've got it. FWIW, WE 86.
