With homemade pizza on an oak-grilled crust. Inky black, dark brooding nose; red and black fruit on the palate, firm tannins, very nice finish. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.5% al/vol and $23.99 at Costco. I'll buy more.

I agree.... Well made, Extremely well balanced.... Balanced earthy notes.... And that's one hell of a good price.

Have gone through several bottles of the '03 lately with mixed results. Some have been wonderful indeed, but a few have shown distinct signs of being cooked, with stuck capsules, penetrated corks, and the burnt smell (in English terms) indicating overheating. Strongly suspect stateside distribution is the culprit, rather than the producer. Have marked my remaining bottles for immediate consumption. Too bad, 'cause it's a really nice CC worthy of the cellar.

Had another tonight with daughter's homemade pizza. Superb!
