I have just come across a bottle of Ruffino Chianti of 1977 vintage and am wondering assuming it was stored right (I was assured it was) if I should save it for a special occasion or just have it with a burger. Thank you for any help given.

Riserva Ducale, from my personal point of view, is an interesting and charming wine and I will save it for a special dinner, ..but not too long... I really don't know if it has been able to bear all these years even if perfectly stored !!!.

I drunk a '91 two years ago and it was "notable"...

This a very traditional, in style, Chianti... once one of the most renowned... now a little bit neglected...

Ciao Fabio

I'd be a bit suspicious of the viability of a 1977 Chianti, no matter how well it was stored. Twenty five years is a long time. You might want to have a backup bottle handy when you open that one ... just in case.
