All New Hampshire Liquor Stores are having and Italian Wine sale lasting through September 27th. On whole or mixed cases they give you 15% off. Yesterday we stopped at one of larger state stores at Hookset I-93 North. They had an excellent selection at all price points. We stocked up at the $10-$15 pp. Here is our loot with 15% discount included:

2 Dogajolo Carpineto Tuscano @ $10.19
2 Cantele Primitivo Salento @ $11.04
2 Masciarelli Trebbiano d’Abruzzo @ $8.49
2 Cecchi Chianti Classico @ $9.34
4 Masciarelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo @ $8.49

This totaled $112.08 with, of course, no sales tax. Savings amounted to $41.80.

Looks like some gems there, IK! Will scrutinizing your new posts for notes on those hummers!

I've had all those except the Dogajolo.
Some good little bargains!

I'm particularly interested in your notes on the wines from Masciarelli. I once confused Cecchi with Ciacci (Piccolomini)but they are very different producers.

The two Masciarellies are what we could almost call our desert island wines. The Trebbiano is better than any Italian Pinot Grigio we ever tried including those approaching $30.

We have missed the Cecchi for several vintages and look forward to updating these. The other two are new to us and were purchased on reputation only. We will post as we consume.

We sell an ocean of the Masciarellis - the Montepulciano about twice as much as the Trebbiano. Not only are they wonderful sippers, they're also awesome cooking wines. They also make a higher end Montepulciano, named after Gianni's wife - Marina Cvetic - that retails for about $32. I'd recommend it highly for a special Italian dinner.
