Can anyone supply me some information on Tuscany? Characteristics, Grape varieties, wine history/culture or any laws that affect wine making in the region? Thank you

Wow! That's a tall order, a much larger series of questions than is appropriate for a BBS. Go to one of the better wine shops in your area, and ask for a copy of the May 15 2000 edition of Wine Spectator magazine. That edition (the one just prior to the current issue, which arrived yesterday) happended to have featured Tuscany: its wines, wineries, restaurants and hotels. Its feature article, illustrated on the cover, is "Discovering Tuscany". Bookstores may still have copies in stock, but since it is now outdated by the current edition, they may not. However, good wine shops keep a large selection of back issues, so they are more likely to have it available. Good luck.
