- Innkeeper - 07-21-2006 2004 Valle Martello, Aprutium Alma Mater, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Cerasuolo Rosato ($7.99 Wine Expo). Alcohol level: 13%. A great big rose’ that gives you very aromatic red fruit perfume on the nose and upfront. In the middle it is full of red wine flavor and fruit with just a touch of Abruzzo dirt. All this accompanied by a surprisingly long finish for a rose’. We matched it with grillpanned (it was raining) salmon filet, nuked fresh zucchini with thinly sliced onion and EVOO and rolls. It all made for a very nice Friday night meal. - Botafogo - 07-22-2006 Glad you liked that, Carl. It's a screaming deal and one of the most versitle wines we offer. - Innkeeper - 07-23-2006 Had the second half with chicken salad Bev made out of the remains of the six pound clucker we smoked last week. What a perfect match! - Innkeeper - 09-08-2006 Opened another bottle tonight with the same salmonburgers we had with the Spanish rose' last Friday. Matched perfectly along with a salad with the best tomatoes we've had in a long time; they were Brandywines. - Innkeeper - 09-09-2006 Other half tonight with Veal Burgers and salad. Perfect match as this wine always is! |
