Found some locally for $5 on close-out. My first Charbono experience.
TNs: dark red/black color; enticing aromas of leather, cedar, red fruit. As WC said, "Big, bold, serious". Dark plum/cherry & leather/earthy flavors & hint of cinnamon. Not as much mouthweight as expected. Tannins smooth, but very present, making the wine seem quite dry. Definitely not for drinkin' w/out food. Medium finish that ends with a perfect fruit note such that it fools the senses to think of sweetness. Matched perfectly with the sauteed portobellos in our meal.

Given the tannins still present, I understand why WC said, "it's structured for cellaring for 10-20 years." cp
