A friend is having a cheesecake tasting party and I wanted to know what kind of wine to bring.

Look for Madeira (Verdelho or Bual). Get the real stuff from the island of Madeira not the stuff from California.

Oh, and hold the candied fruit on top--personal opinion.

Actually, I could not come up with more than two cheescakes that I would have in a tasting: the regular one, with nothing on top, and espresso cheesecake (my only allowable deviation from cheesecake). All the others are, to me, aberrations.

Good luck and do try the Madeira.
