A reality check on terrior. Brite ruby. Cleanly made with nice fruit, some spice, and acidity. Not any major flaws but not any exceptional qualities either. Tough going up against this varietal from some of the better old world producers. Not up to this reliable producers usual quality. 85/86. 15.2% alc. WW

Not too different from my review from last December: http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum13/HTML/000513.html

How many CA Sangiovese wines can go up against the Italians? I remember Atlas Peak a few years ago, but I haven't had them lately.
