This Premier Cru was recommended to us by one of our regular wine store employee "friends," who insisted that it's drinking wonderfully, even though I was initially aiming to age it a few more years, seeing as how Pommard tends to the more tannic, and they sometimes need a few more years to drop those away. We went ahead, though, and popped this last night. Bright ruby color, with a nose of strawberry and cherry. Anne said that it tasted "all strawberries," while I thought there was an earthy, mineral-like streak down the middle. Really nice wine, and it is ready to drink now, though it'll probably go several more years. Anne noted that it tasted like one of the aged (10 years) Oregon Pinot Noirs that we were fortunate to have tried in Willamette last year. I responded that maybe aged Oregon PN tastes like Burgundy. Either way, this wine was nice. Paid $48 for it. Alc. 13%.
