A casual drinking buddy of mine stopped by yesterday who'd never had a Loring so gave the opportunity to try a couple side-by. Originally the Cargassi had some definate funkiness on the nose that blew off with about 15 min of air. The nose then revealed doses of rasp-strawberry fruits, sweet spices and a tad of wet loam. The Clos had this lovely nose of flowers, red fruits and just a hint of meat. From there on our conversation was more directed to the D-Backs and Suns than wine but both were quite enjoyable. The Cargi weighed in at a modest 13.7% alc and the Clos at 14.1% Did Bryan get hit by a Romanee-Conti bottle? WW
