Decanted 30 minutes before pouring. Deep reddish purple in color -- clear, though. Very nice nose of cherry, smoke, bacon, and chocolate. Wonderful pinot texture, just mouthcoating with all these complex flavors suggested by the nose, adding some ripe plum late. Good finish, nice acidity, very nice all-around wine. I fooled Anne with it -- she thought I opened her favorite pinot (Daniel Gehrs). Later, she said that she thought it was a more "subtle" Gehrs-like wine. Alc 14.5%, and not noticed. Paid $27 for it locally, and I was happy about the PQR. I've been tasked with buying more. One of the better pinots we've had this year. FWIW, WS 87, WE 90, W&S 88.
