From Santa Barbara. I've sung the praises of Gehrs PN in each vintage from the '98, and he has an outstanding ability to have a consistently beautiful bottle with similar characteristics. This ruby-colored wine was decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and through evening. Cherry and pine needle scents filled the room and like flavors followed, carrying some cinnamon and vanilla spices on the ringing finish. Gorgeous texture in a delicate style that I like in PN. It's always an inordinate hassle to find the stuff year after year here in GA (thankfully, Anne picked up multiple bottles of the '01 in San Diego last year), and I have no idea how I'm to track down the '02 or '03 (Gehrs doesn't ship to GA and is in some sort of distribution limbo). Of course, I'll end up jumping through whatever hoops I have to in order to enjoy this year after year. My last any only of the '00 (in fact, I bought the last bottle available here in GA at the time). Alc. 13.3%. Paid about $25 for it. FWIW, WE 86.
