2004 Cathiard,

Light ruby-garnet in colour. Great nose. Opened for about 8 hours....a bourgogne.

Elegant nose of light cherries, floralness. On mouth, nicely fresh, soft fruit, minerality that village level wines should be jealous of and light tannings. Nice stuff around $35.

2005 Cathiard Bourgogne.

Similar nose to the 2004 but just more of everything. Riper, denser, fuller. On mouth, same light freshness but this time underneath a great layer for fresh berries, cherries, stronger sense of minerality and grippier tannins. This is a Bourgogne??? Not cheap at around $45 but probably a better buy than a $33 Meo Camuzet Bourgogne which is nice, more forward but much simplier.
