Well we reached a compramize on the menu. A local Barbeque joint has a family pack of 1 lb. bbq, 1 pt. slaw, 1 pt baked beans & 12 hushpuppies, for $11.10. We will get 2 of those and I am making IK's meatball sandwiches. Of course I'm not making my own bread. My wife said I had better not mess up HER kitchen!

I'm shure that every man here that has been married for at least 10 years knows, we are the HEAD of the house, but the wife is the NECK that turns the head.

Well, I found ground beef and pork but no ground veal, for the meatballs. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

The meatballs are in the marinara sauce. So far so good. They smell great IK. Only about 4 hours till the whoppin (I mean game) starts.

The meatball ball sandwiches where exceeded only by the excitment of the game (Yeah, Patriots; great game Panthers). Washed it down with Cecchi Chianti Classico. The bread came out very well this year; last time I overcooked it. Now we can enjoy the leftovers in relative peace.

Had pizza with Maraia Barbera Monferrato and slept through half-time and all but the last three minutes of the game. Figured I came out ahead, not having to endure the Jackson exhibit or the numbing monotony of the first half. I'm ready for college football to start up again.

I did have the beef and barley soup and a Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel, but I passed on the veggies in favor of lime-flavored tortilla chips with a sour cream-leek dip (I used reduced fat sour cream and the dip was still quite tasty).

IK, the meatballs were a hit! We had some tonight over pasta. Thanks!

You are very welcome Tand, and hope we meet again next year, though hope to meet at Glenora in May. We will be having leftovers with pasta too.
