Some friends have an annual lobster dinner and i have become in charge of the wine. Last year i went into our local wine store and got some great advice and a some excellent wine. I would like to get some ideas on different types and maybe even a red if anyone has a good idea. We are serving the lobster straight up with clarified butter and there will probably be some sort of salads. Thanks

Hi Arn, and welcome to the Wine Board. Recommend 2002 Mad Fish Western Australian Chardonnay. If you live in Maine, I know it is available here. Otherwise look for it or any other "unoaked" or "unwooded" chardonnay from Australia, New Zealand or the U.S. You might also look for a Macon Villages, Macon Lugny, or Saint Veran from the Maconnais in France.

I'm no expert but I have enjoyed Champagne with lobster before. If anyone else agrees with me they can give specific producer suggestions. I like V.Cliquot.
