- hotwine - 10-13-2005 This product of the Russian River Valley was surprising for the price. Nice nose of red fruit on a spice floor, opening to raspberries and strawberries on the palate with a touch of red currants, good finish of red fruits and a lip-smacking bitter candy. 13.5% alc/vol and about $13.50 per. As good a PN at that price point that I've found. With grilled chicken, gumbo and yellow squash. The wine and the gumbo both ran out much too soon. - TheEngineer - 10-13-2005 Thanks! Keep my eyes open. - jmcginley1 - 10-14-2005 Nice, this is a bottle I always look at and never buy. I'll grab one next time I am "shopping" I think we have it $11 locally. - winoweenie - 10-14-2005 Haven't seen this model here yet. Love the P/Q on this botlling. WW - wondersofwine - 10-14-2005 This has been a standard for me, but I think I paid more locally (also have had it at restaurants in New York City and Raleigh). I took a bottle (earlier vintage) to a tasting of Pinots Around the World and one participant thought it had too much wood treatment but I fail to see that (different palates I guess). http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum12/HTML/000141.html - dananne - 10-14-2005 Runs closer to $18 around here, though I haven't tried one since the 2000. Will give it a try. - hotwine - 10-14-2005 Had another tonight with Italian take-out of "lemon pepper salmom" and veggies (carrots, broccoli, artichokes, etc.), all drizzled in OO. Good eats. And the vino was right on, with no trace of heavy oak treatment. I like this stuff. Case buy, maybe two. - Sue Motha - 11-01-2005 Does anyone know where to find the Bearboat 2002 Pinot Noir? - hotwine - 11-01-2005 Welcome to the board. Haven't seen the '02; the '03 was purchased at Costco. - Kcwhippet - 11-02-2005 You might try Warehouse Wine & Spirits in Framingham, MA. |
