Lighter color around the edges but not discolored, meaning not orangish. The nose has distinctive red cherries with a touch of age (oxidation). But just a touch; enough to get me real interested. Great mouth-feel where the tannins could take a bit longer to soften up. The palate has vibrant, youthful fruit; think red cherries; maybe even red raspberries when they are first picked. There is a touch of barnyard earth on the mid-palate. The finish is long and sweet. Wow, wish I had more of this.........
