Russian River Valley, Sonoma, CA
14.2% alcohol
Dark purple-red color, clear
Nose is both fruity (ripe dark cherries, plumskin) and floral (roses, violets).
Similar flavors. Smooth mouthful with lingering finish. I find it very attractive, balanced even with the high alcohol level. I paid $20.99 at the grocery store, apparently marked down from $23.99. Worth the price. Use of wood is appropriate and enhanced the final product. Very drinkable now. Probably will remain drinkable for several more years. Give it a try. Had with baked ham and German potato salad.
Saw on another wine forum that Bucko rated the 2000 version of this 87/87. I would agree with that rating that this is a very good Pinot Noir.
