Rully is about 4 miles from Chassagne-Montrachet, and it is supposedly noted for the limestone soils that impart a striking minerality to the wines. This one was ruby-colored, and we decanted it about 20 minutes before 1st pour. Crushed raspberries and bing cherries on the nose and in the flavors. Light-to-medium bodied, somewhat textbook Pinot characteristics, and well made, but there was nothing too distinct about it. We didn't get the minerality we had expected, but it's a pleasant wine that seems to be at the top of it's game. I have no idea where we got it or how much it runs -- a cellar orphan of unknown origin. 13% alc.
