With oak-grilled salmon covered with a paste of olive oil, white wine vinegar, chopped garlic, basil, parsley and a bit of coarse salt: decanted an hour before dinner. Burst of fruit on the nose, lots more on the palate, more still on the finish.... Where's the soil? Coundn't find a sense of place, just lots of fruit. 13% ABV and $14.49 at the local discounter.

That's one I haven't tried yet. Is it from Santa Barbara County?

At that price, it sounds like the Santa Maria Valley.

It is indeed from the Santa Maria Valley. Maybe this is their low-end label? Simply found it to be unremarkable. Have to admit that the PN's I've tried have all been ho-hum... but then, I've not tried any of the high-dollar Burgs, or any PN over about $30.
