Willamette Valley, Oregon
13% alcohol $32.95
Back label: "This barrel select reserve is one of the finest Pinot Noir blends we have ever produced. The combination of Willamette Valley vineyards--Temperance Hill, Seven Springs, Hawk's View, Bella Vida, Van John, La Colina and Rainbow Ridge--provide a stunning wine. The complex character of the wine truly reflects the strength of the 2002 vintage. The "Deux Verres" was aged in 15% new French oak. Label art by Janice Griffin title "Deux Verres," "Two Wine Glasses." Produced and bottled by Torii Mor Winery, McMinnville, OR."

Dark purple around the edge, dark crimson, nearly opaque, in the center.
More plum than cherry on the nose and palate. Does exhibit complexity with boysenberry and plumskin and plum flesh and chewy sous bois quality. Elegant, medium-bodied, restrained presence of alcohol.
I think it's deserving of its price where I feel some Oregon Pinot Noirs are overpriced in the $30s or $40s.
Better the first two nights than the third.

Thanks for the notes. We're still sitting on the '03 of this one, which we purchased on the '05 trip (the afternoon before we met you, come to think of it).
