Burgundy color with flashes of ruby and purple. Nose of cherry and some vanilla. Nice cherry flavors held in check with a layer of tannins that shortens the finish, which is a touch prickly. It is a pretty wine, though, that probably needs a few more years to shine, but we weren't "wowed" by it, and found it lacking in P/Q -- paid $40 locally. Alc. 13.2%. I'm not going to rush out for another of the '01s, but I may pick up an '02, perhaps giving it a bit more cellar time.

Which one? I believe they make three designations. These are really sound wines that you hit on the head -- they need 5-7 years in bottle.

It was their regular Oregon bottling. I'll take your advice and give the '02 (which is what I've seen recently on the shelf with some leftover '01s) 5-7.
