My first NZ PN, had in Washington at the restaurant in the Sheraton Arlinton. $8.00 a glass....what a markup....considering retail is less than $10 a bottle.

Color is a garnet/ruby red. Nose of bright fruit, strawberries, and berry. Light in mouth feel with a decent acidity and low tannins. Simple fruity PN in the style of a Beaujolais Nouveau. Light, simple, fruit, and not much more. Perhaps this one had been opened a while.

National or Crystal City?

National...the one with the Wind Tunnel design as the entrance to the hotel.....

Too bad--earlier versions of that wine were quite nice. But the price was higher too. Maybe they have made some sort of marketing decision...
