I opened this bottle and proceeded to pour almost all of it on the fllor as it slipped out of my hand....oh what nose!! I smelled better off the floor...but I guess I won't be making that a standard practise. Otherwise a nice Bordeaux. Solid serious nose of tobacco, older wood, dark cherries, and a bit of chocolate and the same on the palate....I wished I had not sacrificed so much to the floor...maybe if I had a straw.....

Are you going to get a second bottle to actually taste? Curious about this one as I am a biiiiiig Res. dl Comtesse fan but haven't sampled the '01.

The 96 is drinking well right now and I don't plan on waiting any longer for the others.

Bucko, is that true for all 96's in general or do the firstish growths and other well constructed wines still have some time to go before they get to their window...been tempted to open them but I keep slapping my hand...
