OK, never had a Bordeaux, thought I might give it a try. Does anyone have notes on this bottle? I'll be poping the cork on Friday.

A Google search turned up a few notes. from a site in the U.K.: "Dark garnet in color, it shows delicious cassis aromas and just a hint of the earthy, "leathery" notes that are said to be characteristic of Medoc wines. On the palate it shows full, tart black fruit, pleasant cedary flavors." But vintage not specified. A Canadian site stated it's not for long-term aging. Several other references were in Russian, Danish, and German, to name a few of the languages I recognized.

Finnaly popped this cork, my very first Bordeaux. Very little nose except for a musty aroma and what seemed to me to be lead pencil. No fruit, thin and completely unapealling. The finish was shorter than the time it took to empty this bottle down the drain.
Think that I'll stick with Cal. Cabs!

Yea, she was young but the sales clerk said that this wine was made to be drunk as a youngster.

Hey WW, I just wanted to say that I have spent a lot of time reading your posts......I paticularly enjoy your notes on an entire year of cal. cabs.
Man, your wine cellar must be larger than my house!!!!
I have a few of the Cabs you mention but later vintages....haven't tried them as yet.

N-bubba. I was talked into doing that by a former moderator of the board. Made my favorite hobby kinda like a chore. Having to drink cab every nite without a break. I really missed my Pinots, Zins, Merlots, etc. so will never do this type of drinking again. And yes, I'm very fortunate to have a comprehensive cellar with quite a bit of juice. WW
