Picked up a couple of bottles of this at Costco this morning for $36.49 per. Seems like a good price...

Looks like a very good price. The Wine Club has it for $39.99, and it goes up from there with other shops.

Thanks. I checked Spec's on-line (Houston, main store downtown) and their price is $60.46 per. I may have to weasel some more from Costco when she's not lookin'.

Gil, I have a friend who owns a shop up in Austin. I'll give him a shout to see if he's got a good price.

Thanks!

Well, he's got the 99 L-B, but his price is $64 a bottle. In fact, he said it cost him more than $37 from his distributor. Oh well. Looks like you'd better get back to Costco post haste. What a buy!

- hotwine - 11-04-2002

Gee, $64?! Sounds like I've gotta get just one more kitchen pass for a wine purchase...if she's showin' any sense of humor this week. Les' see, what phase of the moon are we in? Yeah, that might work.

Went back to Costco yesterday, expecting to snag a couple more bottles. Gone. Cleaned out, along with their supplies of Haut-Brion and Margaux. So today, I traveled across town to visit the other Costco in these parts. Good stuff is also gone. Nada. Had to content myself with some Fat Bastard Shiraz, Newton Claret, and Capitel de' Roari Amarone. Sigh.

Yeah well, you posted the price online and every lurker in Texas ran to Costco to get their share...

That Costco is gonna put the small guys out of business!

- hotwine - 01-14-2003

The small guys here are still doing OK. It's the not-so-small guys with out-of-line prices that have had to trim their margins to stay in the game. One of 'em still hasn't gotten the message.
