I am looking for a red bordeaux as a gift to my boss. She is letting me have a few days off around Christmas so that I can fly home to spend the holiday with my family. In retail, this is a big favor so I would like something to show my appreciation. She likes the napa valley reds, the bigger styled ones. I would like to get a bottle of bordeaux in the 15 dollar range, 20 tops. Something with a bigger style, but a traditional bordeaux so that its something different than she is used to. Thanks

If you find a red Bordeaux in that price range, please let us all know. Every now and then, one will show in this area, but it's a real fluke of distribution to find one. Suggest you raise your price point, or look elsewhere. You might start with recent postings in the Rhone forum.

Graves will aways take off a layer or two of enamel if consumed too early. Try 1997 Chateau Bouscaut, or Chateau Carbonnieux, Rouge, Pessac-Leognan, Graves. Both run around $20.00. The reason for the "Rouge" is that they both come in a "Blanc." If you can't get them out there, give good ole www.popswine.com a shot.
