This 4th growth Pauillac has come alive the last 10 years. This 00 has the porential to become outstanding. Deep ruby. Nose.....where are you? This sucker was closed as tight as the lid on grammas' home-canned pickles. Deep ruby. Quite astringent in the mouth. Crushed blackcurrents, plums, spice, and leather with new oak showing. The finish shuts down almost immediately due to some heavy tannins. Think I'll let the rest of this box have another 5-8 before opening again. Potentially 91/94 26 on futures. 12.5% alc. WW

Looks like you might have a lot of wines to help celebrate your 90th.

Cracked one last year & my impression was this baby works more like a right bank Bdx from a real rich year. It'll need twice the time you think it would need.

Ah Yes! Finally this hummer has decided it's about time to give up some aromatics and lovely them suckers be. Black and plummy hit the schnozz along with clove, cinn-i-bon and leather. A solid entry is followed by nice weight on the center and then a neat 4&1/2 lapper finish that is shut off prematurely by some still lingering tannins. Needs at least another 2-5 to hit the top. Has fulfilled its' early promise in spades. Kick this booger up to a solid 93 and rising. WW

Only started to notice this one in the last few years unfortunately as they could have been had for much lower fees then then now. Still had some of the '05 and it was wonderful. wish I had a bit more knowledge a few years ago.

Ah, those sneaky little 4th growths will wake you up every time.

Opened another yesterday and the sun is still rising. Nose has expanded, the entry is a tad stronger and the finish is definately just below the fabeled 5-lapper. Still some supple tannins lurking to shut all the goodies down. A solid cirizen. BAD stuff....WW
