Hi. I'm sort of new to this wine thing, and I just received a bottle of 1995 Mouton-Cadet Rothschild bordeaux and I wanted to know something about it and any possible value. thanks

You have a wonderful bottle of wine. Mouton, like one or two others can be counted on even in a bad year. 1995 was a terrific vintage for Bordeaux; the best since 1990. Your wine can be purchased right now for around $250.00. This does not mean you could go right out and sell it for that right now, or even later when it increases in value. The reason is that there is scant market at legitimate auctions for single bottles. Yours just might be an exception in five years or so. Recommend you hang on to it in a cool, humid place for five years, and then plan to have the experiance of a lifetime. In addition to sharing the wine experiance with a special person, you can get the added kick of knowing you are swallowing around a grand.

Re-read, that is Mouton Cadet, a relatively cheap wine for the masses, but often tasty.

Sorry, I goofed. Just looked at the subject.

Boy, I started reading Innkeeper's post and was ready to run out and get that cheap bottle my retailer did not know was worth so much!

1995 was a good year, but Mouton-Cadet is always a decent wine--and that is all--worth about $9.
