I'm looking for a Bordeaux from the St Emillion area. I'm not sure how to spell it so here we go...Chateau Tremilet, Grand Cru. Can you help me locate this wine?

Welcome to the board. Sounds like Ch. Trimoulet, a Grand Cru St Emilion. Spec's in Houston has the '98 for $24.13 per btl, $268.83 per case. See www.specsonline.com. Other retailers can be found with www.wine-searcher.com, but the '98 vintage is not listed among them. Also, most of the retailers list the Ch. La Rose Trimoulet, which is a different wine entirely.

Do you mind if I ask why you are searching for Trimoulet? There are many, many '98 St. Emilions that are better wines. Unless there is some significance with this winery, I can't imagine why one would seek this out over the myriad of others. Just for the record, I had the '66 about a year ago and it was drinkable, but so is Budweiser.... [img]http://wines.com/ubb2/rolleyes.gif[/img]

You seem to think there are better wines than the Chateau Trimoulet 1998 Grand Cru. Yes there are nicer wines. Maybe you have a few suggestions? I like to limit my spending to $20.00 per bottle or less. I welcome your input.

Lasselm welcome to the board. My suggestion is, if you live in a town with Costco, go and check out their 2000 petite Bordeauxs. These are, IMHO, some of the most delicious wines out of France since the killer 82 vintage and there are many under the 20 buck price point. If not, go online and depending on where you live,(which wasn't listed) there are many wineshops with lots of selections. WW

Do you have a couple of vineyards you could recommend for the petite bordeauxs? I could contact a few of my wine vendors and ask the availablity on your suggestions.

There are hundreds of petite Bordeaux. By definition they are mostly small. Therefore they are mostly imported by small regional importers. Therefore what is available in one city is not available in another. I always go with what my retailer recommends, and since I trust him, he takes care of me. The following year it is almost always a new batch of petite Bordeaux.

L:assallm, go back on the Bordeaux thread for 1 year and you'll find many postings with the names of the 2000 wines. Prices will be posted. Take several as the 2000 vintage is getting at the sold-out stage. WW
