Appellation Pessac Leognan, Grand Vin de Bordeaux. Checked out our new Costco today, and stumbled across this one; totally unknown to me, so I picked up a couple and decided to try with leftover smoked chuck roast tonight. Excellent Bordeaux character, with just the components that I look for - saddle leather, cigar and a bit of black currant. Drinking very nicely now, but should improve with a little bottle age. And the price - the princely sum of $16.99.

With tri-tip, baked spuds, sweet peas and spinach salad. Failed to decant and it needs air time, at least an hour before dinner. Very pleasant, just not fully developed without decanting. Small amount of sediment present.
