The last of the non-classified growths I bought as futures. The best Martillac by a ton I've experienced. Clear deep ruby. Tar, flowers, anise, cigar-box and a real sense of earth in the nose. All come across on the palate. Strong center feel and a solid 4-lapper finish. Tons of tannins to shed. Needs another 9-12. Should be a beauty. 91/94. 14.99 by the box en premieur. WW Wont be opening any classified growths for another 5 years. Will probably be able to taste some of the big boys at the local shops down the line. What a ride these 2000s' are going top take us on. Good, Googily, Moogily.....other than 1toad and SB you've posted on 11 bordeaux in the last several days, should I sign you up for a 12 step program? Great notes BTW.

Just thought I'd try some of the Bordeaux Superiors and lesser lites while they are still available. Many have not appreciated that much from the first offering of futures. They are really worth the money. WW

Opened another of these lovelies yesterday. The nose has expanded famously and the floral aspect has emerged. The tannins have diminished greatly and are now becoming civilized. Still strong on the finish and lasts longer as the tannins don't shut it down as quickly. Still needsa another 2-4 to really become operatic. Wont change the scoring yet but rite on target. WW
