I can't remember the location but it is not the real Bel Air..BTW, I heard that the Real Bel Air is now changing its name too cuz too many low end stuff was using the name as part of its name. I recall reading an article that there were dozens of Bel Air's around (and I've tried a few myself). It is now called Chateau Bélair-Monange, Monange being the name of JP Moueix's mother....anyways, back to this $15 bottle.

Not much there.. not sure if I missed it or it is dumb now.... Good nose of berries, some receding oak, nice floral hints at medium+ density. On palate, much more dead, more astringent, hollow with a metallic finish. Left open for 2 hours and not much improvement. Too bad as it was the first bottle of a six pack I just opened.

Hate that, when you know it's not going to get any better. Sounds like a candidate for the pistol range (a fence post on the creek bank).

Good Gawd, I said bad things too early... Revisited this bottle after 24 hours and it came back!! Now not a great bordeaux but it is now at least a good sandwich bordeaux that I would not be afraid to reach for..... Next time I decant this sucker!
