This is the second wine of Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.

It is a rather good second wine (a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc). Decanted for about 1 hour and it showed great fruit with tobacco. Mouth filling, big flavors, lots to make you think about and want to go back for more. Nice balance for now and tannins were definitely noticeable but mellowed out with time. It should age well for many more years.

sorry...original note mixed in with a batch of other things and my original comments were lost...think it happened when I copied in the percentages of the wine makeup).

Pichon is, and has been, one of my favorite Bordeaux. Have this hummer along with its' big Bro resting comfy in the cellar. Was a great buy at 24 on futures. WW

hehehehe.....by the time I got round to this...it was not $24 ....you right, would have been a great by at $24. Think that it is selling around these parts now for about $38 if you can find it.

Wanted to leave it to rest for some time more but....just could not wait.
