I have seen some notes that were less than favorable to this wine, so I opened a bottle tonight with dinner to give it my own evaluation. Initially the wine was wonderful, with earthy fruit, tobacco, leather, cedar, smoothe tannins, and great balance. It began to fade after one hour, with cedar becoming more predominant and seeming more disjointed. The wine has clearly peaked and is headed downhill. I would recommend drinking them now and not opening the bottle until it is time for dinner. Still very enjoyable.
