A friend purchased this in Paris this year and brought it over for dinner.

My first experience with Amiot, hope I get to do this again real soon! Really elegant nose. Light golden in color. On the palate, the wine is nicely rounded and rather focused, but what depth. I almost thought that I could taste the vine growing into the ground in my mind (bit did not tell anyone at dinner,...they wold have looked at me really strangely). The wine had this fantastic depth, a long earthy finish, with a hint of bitterness at the end. I loved this bottle. Definitely bottle of the night.

Hey Bern,

Thanks!!

Yup. The Rhone first, then the Burg, then the Barolo and then the Sauternes.

It was a good evening. Good friends make it even better.
