I was a bit worried about his one, not having had an 03 before, I was worried about how fleshy and over ripe it would be, and that it would probably be down hil....

Well thankfully not all of that was true. The wine is surprising sleek for an 03 though you get the sense of the vintage with the slightly smoother mouth feel. Nose of lemon pie, pineapple, some other tropical notes. Certainly not the traditional Raveneau that I like but it was not an 03 monster as well. Over the 6 hours that it was opened, it gained some density so it was not downhill either but there is little interest to age this one more as I wouldn't have any guesses as to where it would end up since it is different from other Rav's.
