2006 Four Vines, Naked Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County (13.99 NH Liq Store). Alcohol level: 13.9%. This is our quintessential New World oak free Chard under $20.

It gives you a bouquet of fruit on the nose and upfront including pears, apples, melons, and more. On the palate you can tell that these grapes are from wonderful vines; giving you a rich blend of sweet and crisp including a hint of mango in the midst of acidity. Fantastic fruit! A dry and lingering finish follows.

We matched it with another batch of Giada’s “Linguine with Shrimp and Lemon Oil.” Great meal!

Have you tried the Toad Hollow Chard, IK?

Yes. And I like it too.
