A year or two ago I tried and liked Ravenswood Zinfandels--now the winery has been bought up by a conglomerate. One of my
current favorite California chardonnays is from Sonoma-Cutrer. Now Wine Spectator online reports that Brown-Forman, which bought an 80% interest in the winery in 1999, has ousted as president and CEO Brice Cutrer-Jones, the founder of the winery. The news article says that Brice Cutrer-Jones thinks the company is trying to increase profitability while he was always more concerned with maintaining excellence and quality. Maybe some of the vineyard pests
walk on two feet?
