I tried a 1.5 oz. pour of this Alsace wine at a Raleigh restaurant. Lovely summer sipper. Refreshing and light. A favorite house wine of the wine shop owner and I can see why. Not very expensive.

It is amazing that within one country, France, the proprietary name "Les Charmes" could be used on two different wines made less than one hundred miles apart.

I imagine its used on more than two. Are you thinking of a white Burgundy? A Meursault? Some names that refer to rocks, stones, etc. are frequently used as a vineyard designation in different regions. Don't know that they are proprietary.

Am thinking of Cave de Lugny, Macon Lugny, Chardonnay, "Les Charmes" that I drink a lot of (particularly in Maine seafood restaurants) and recommend frequently.
