- Georgie - 01-08-2004 I had a glass of this at a restaurant last evening with a pasta, chicken and peas dish. I can't say I was too impressed with this one. Just a glass of wine, if you know what I mean. - Kcwhippet - 01-08-2004 Though they can make good juice, I don't think this is one of Gallo's better efforts. - Thomas - 01-08-2004 That's probably because where they grow their pinot grigio in California they should NOT, as sure as in parts of New York people should NOT grow cabernet sauvignon. - Kcwhippet - 01-08-2004 Well, actually, they grow the grapes in the Venezie district in Italy. - Thomas - 01-08-2004 Oh--I never realized that, 'cause I never drink that wine. Is it around Venice or is it in Friuli Venezia Giulia? Well then, it must be a combination of poor growing practices, poor location and poor selection. - Kcwhippet - 01-08-2004 Venice. I've never had it either, mostly because I don't particularly care for Pinot Grigio. I do like Pinot Gris, though, but that's done in a whole different style. - Innkeeper - 01-14-2004 Last time I tried it, with little other otions, I distictly detected oak in it. Should never be in a PG. |
