I had a glass of this at a restaurant last evening with a pasta, chicken and peas dish. I can't say I was too impressed with this one. Just a glass of wine, if you know what I mean.

Though they can make good juice, I don't think this is one of Gallo's better efforts.

That's probably because where they grow their pinot grigio in California they should NOT, as sure as in parts of New York people should NOT grow cabernet sauvignon.

Well, actually, they grow the grapes in the Venezie district in Italy.

Oh--I never realized that, 'cause I never drink that wine.

Is it around Venice or is it in Friuli Venezia Giulia?

Well then, it must be a combination of poor growing practices, poor location and poor selection.

Venice. I've never had it either, mostly because I don't particularly care for Pinot Grigio. I do like Pinot Gris, though, but that's done in a whole different style.

Last time I tried it, with little other otions, I distictly detected oak in it. Should never be in a PG.
