This 1st effort from this Calistoga vineyard is a definate home-run. Medium ruby. Nose is dominated by red fruits, and sweet spices. Elegant entry, solid center and a 4+ lapper finish, this is, IMHO, one of the 5 best 98s' I've experienced. Still 2-4 from peaking this Bordeaux-styled lovely should hold for another 15+. 91/88. 65 by the box. 13.6% alc. ( Beautifully Packaged )

WW, This is really a winery run by Emmanuel Kemiji and his address of record is on Fillmore St. in San Fran, but he does make the wines in Calistoga. I haven't found whose facilities he's using. It appears he gets fruit from high end vineyards because of his rep, and is able to make some really nice wines, though out here he hasn't got such a big name. We have the 2001 Pisoni PN in the shop. Original retail was $52.99 but it wasn't selling (again, because of lack of recognition), so we got it from the distributor andare selling it for $29.99. I get it at employee price for $9.90.

This is my first venture with his juice. Didn't like the 99 nearly as well so passed. Haven't seen the latest releases. Was of the impression he had vineyards. Tankee fer the info KC. WW

Opened another for lunch yesterday. Developing beautifully. Still haven't run across this label since the 99 but this is a killer bottle of juice. Aromatics opening up but no change in scoring. WW

Took another of this baby plus a 98 Silver Oak Napa for lunch yesterday with BRW. Dead at the TOIG. No change in scoring. The SO was our 1st encounter with this vintage and a VERY impressive first date. The excessive oak that shows in these bottlings early on has become a footnote rather than a headline and this is one kick-patootie bottle of juice. Both of us and the helpful staff all gave this a big "atta-boy". At least a 92. Will open another bottle shortly here at the abode and give more detailed notes. WW
