I opened this one early because of all the bad hype. WS 84 RP 87. Well, a few months back I opened a 98 that had a WS rating of 95 and this bottle blew it out of the water. Beautiful mouth coating wine with a solid 40 second finish. I got none of the balsamic that Laube found in every 01 bottling from Viader. Just good cab characteristics. Black fruit and dried cherries. The only part of the reviews that I agree with is that this bottle is best drunk young. I'm much closer to a 92 than an 84, but hey what do I know?

I totally agree. IMHO Laube needs a tongue transplant. WW

And it just got better as the night wore on. By bedtime the last glass was about empty and sitting a good four feet from me on the coffee table. The aromatics had grown to the extent that I was getting constant reminders from that distance. Beautiful.
